Ascend Fire Ant Bait
Venus Pest Company uses Ascend Fire Ant Bait for fire ant control. This product uses abamectin as the active ingredient. Abamectin is derived from bacterial fermentation and acts as a stomach poison to ants. Worker ants aggressively collect the bait and it is distributed throughout the colony. Ascend immediately halts egg production by the queen and ultimately results in the death of the colony. Control should be achieved in 5 - 10 days. We suggest 2 broadcast applications per year. One application should be in the Spring when ants begin foraging. The second application should be in the early Fall before the weather cools significantly. This should result in 90%+ control. Occasional spot treatments may be needed between applications. One 2 lb container will treat 2 Acres. $22.50 (USD) per 2 lb container.

Advance Carpenter Ant Bait
Our choice for Carpenter Ant Control is Advance Carpenter Ant Bait. Carpenter ants can be finicky, but this bait has provided our most consistent results. Application should be made around the perimeter of structures, around nearby trees, and anywhere ants are seen trailing. Apply at a rate of 1 lb per acre. $30.00 (USD) per 8 oz container.
